20 - 26 FEB 2016: Blackbeard's Cruise - Nassau, Bahamas Blackbeard Cruise Header
What a trip! We had a fantastic time AND met a lot of great people. We have pictures on our Facebook page and links to some other customers that went with us. It was a little chilly, water temp was around 72 -74 degrees, but luckily we had pretty good weather for the most part. We are thinking of renting the Cat Ppalau next year, so watch for more info about that to come.

9 - 10 APR 2016: Balmorhea State Park
Open Water check out dives.

11 - 18 APR 2016: Anthony's Key, Roatan Honduras
What a fun trip. Definately different from Coco View. A lot bigger. The resort was really nice and a great place if you are traveling with children. They have a pool on site and having dolphins on property was really cool also! And being able to hail a taxi and take a 10 minnute taxi ride to the West End was a nice option. Going up forty-two steps three times a day for meals was good exercise because the food was wonderful!
I personally didn't think the diving was that good (others thought it was "ok"), except when we were diving off West Bay the last day. I did enjoy diving Wayne's Place AKA Spooky Channel. That was a great swim-thru dive. As a matter of fact our group loved it so much we got them to take us back the last day so we could do it again. The shore diving was a pain. Nothing like Coco View's front yard.
Overall, we had a good time and I'm glad we went. I know where to tell families to go if they want to go to Roatan and diving is not their #1 priority. If they want to swim with dolphins, shop and lay by the pool, this is the place they would like. If you don't want to haul your own gear around every moring and afternoon, or keep track of a locker key all week because there are so many people around, you may want to try the "other" dive resort.

23 - 24 APR 2016: The Blue Lagoon, Huntsville TX
Divers Day Out in the piney woods was beautiful as always. Not to many people came out this year. But that's ok. The weather was great and the diving was pretty good for a Texas scuba park! We just love this place!

12 June 2016: Clear Springs Scuba Park, Terrell TX
We were scheduled to be at Lake Travis this weekend for Advanced Open Water & Deep Diver training, but Mother Nature did not cooperate. There was so much rain the week leading up to our Divers Day Out that almost all the picnic tables were underwater. So we decided to reschedule for next month and just head out to CSSP for some diving. Got to admit, the drive to Terrell is a lot better than Austin. But join us in July...unless Mother Nature unleashes the flood gates again!

16 - 17 July 2016: Windy Point, Lake Travis, Austin TX
What a great weekend! The weather was really great and we had a lot of people show up. Had a few of the Divemaster Candidates out finishing up their skills and all in all it was really nice diving in Lake Travis again. Congratulations to Mitch on his 100th dive!

13 - 20 AUG 2016: Coco View, Roatan Honduras
Never disappointed! This has got to be my favorite dive spot. The people are so nice, the resort is so relaxing and the diving is just great. It was DFW Scuba Shop's 3rd year to in a row to go there but we had people that joined us that have been there 4 and 8 times!

CONGRATULATIONS to the following people that got certifications while we were there:

The other big milestone on the trip...Casey Kirkpatrick did his 100th dive on Thursday on the Prince Albert! He celebrated in a few ways and his wife surprised him with this...
Casey's 100th Dive!

Watch for more pictures to come.

I have next years trip already planned so mark your calendars for August 5 - 12, 2017!

10 - 11 SEPT 2016: Windy Point, Lake Travis
I thought that Jimmy would like a nice relaxing Divers Day Out at one of his favorite dive sites for his birthday weekend. Little did I know, that no one would show up on Saturday. Poor guy sat on a bench at Windy Point for a couple of hours waiting on divers to show up before taking off to blow bubbles in a hotel pool. (He's been tying to perfect his ring blowing skills). On Sunday he did meet up with a couple of newly certified Open Water students and they practiced some navagation and buoyance skills before heading back home.

16 OCT 2016: Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest, Clear Springs Scuba Park
Well, for the first time in a few years, we didn't have anyone carve a pumpkin! The weather was wonderful and everyone was ready to dive. We had a few campers and it was a nice change from the cold Octobers we have had the last few years.

10 DEC 2016: Customer Appreciation Christmas Party 3:00 PM
Once again this year we collected toys for the Texas State Guard. These toys went to Cooks Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. on Sunday by the Chaplins of the TSG. TSG was very thankful for everything you all donated as are Jimmy and I. Thank You!
We had a few surprise people come by this year. Jimmy had been working hard to get a lot of the old CUDA and Surface Intervals crew together. We were happy to see Ed Wiggins and Alec Rank and their wives.
